Meet Daniel Pershick

Daniel Pershick is a frontline health care professional, community advocate, and Barrhaven resident since 2014. Daniel is running to represent Barrhaven West and Barrhaven East as the Zone 3 trustee on the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

A parent’s stake in our schools

As the parent of a two-year-old who will enter the local school system in a few years, Daniel has a personal stake in the future of Barrhaven’s classrooms. Every child deserves a strong public education and a school where they feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are.

That commitment means confronting racism, hate, and bullying, listening to families, and making sure students have the support they need to participate and learn.

Protecting public services under pressure

Daniel has worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in critical care for nearly a decade. The work demands sound judgement under pressure, close teamwork, and accountability for decisions that affect people’s lives.

Working on the front lines of health care has shaped Daniel’s belief that public services need dependable funding and staffing. Daniel opposes cuts that weaken health care and education, and believes decisions about these services should serve patients, students, and families ahead of corporate interests.

Standing up for students who need support

Daniel has joined the Ontario Autism Coalition at public rallies to advocate for special education funding and the services families rely on. That advocacy reflects a concern that funding cuts fall hardest on students with disabilities, neurodivergent students, and those who already face barriers at school.

Daniel wants families to have access to early intervention, appropriate classroom support, and clear answers when they ask for help.

A commitment to Barrhaven

Daniel will bring critical care experience, community advocacy, and a parent’s perspective to the trustee role, with three priorities:

• Safe, inclusive schools. Defend and strengthen anti-racism policies, address hate and bullying, and advocate for schools where every child is accepted and able to thrive.
• Funded classrooms and special education. Oppose provincial cuts that reduce student support and press for the funding, staffing, and early-intervention resources Barrhaven schools need.
• Transparent, independent representation. Be accessible to local families and educators, explain decisions clearly, and put students’ needs ahead of provincial party agendas.

Daniel’s commitment is to protect public education and the rights of every student. On Monday, October 26, 2026, vote for Daniel Pershick for OCDSB Trustee in Barrhaven, Zone 3.
